Help your car pass

  • We are on your side! Our technicians are State-licensed experts. Please feel free to discuss any concerns you have about your vehicle, with them, before the test. We will be happy to assist.
  • If your vehicle is due any routine maintenance, please have it done before the smog inspection.
  • Use the fuel you normally do. Premium fuel in a vehicle that usually uses regular fuel may result in the car failing.
  • Fuel or oil additives could make your vehicle fail. Please check with your mechanic, or our technicians, before the test.
  • For 1996 or newer vehicles, if the 'Check Engine' light or 'Service Engine Soon' light is not illuminated, and your Onboard Diagnostics (OBD) computer fully functional, it is very likely to pass its smog inspection.
  • For 1995 or older vehicles, please ensure the gas in your tank is not more than 30 days old. This does make a difference!
  • If your vehicle rarely reaches highway speeds, do take it for a quick highway run to clear any carbon build up.
  • All vehicle modifications must be State approved, with a C.A.R.B. label and an EO number visible.
